Partnered with Institute for Security Studies (ISS) in hosting a webinar titled “Will the AU keep youth on its peace and security agenda?

The term of the African Union’s (AU) first ever Envoy on Youth, Aya Chebbi, ended in February. The creation of this position in 2018 was a notable innovation that signaled the importance of youth issues for the AU and the continent.

This seminar will examine Chebbi’s achievements in the peace and security field and the challenges faced by those working on the youth agenda in Africa. Speakers will consider immediate priorities for the sector, including boosting the capacity of the AU and member states to ensure young people play an active role in securing their future.
